Dodgers Nation is one of the largest independent MLB fan sites, covering the Los Angeles Dodgers with breaking news, analysis, and community engagement. The project involved a complete infrastructure overhaul — migrating hosting, optimizing performance, and implementing automated workflows while preserving the site's search rankings and traffic.
01The problem
The site was experiencing performance issues under heavy traffic loads, especially during game days and trade deadline coverage. The existing infrastructure couldn't scale efficiently, page load times were impacting SEO rankings, and there was no automation in the content publishing workflow. A migration was needed without losing any of the site's hard-earned search traffic.

Executed a zero-downtime migration with comprehensive SEO preservation — every URL, redirect, and canonical tag was verified before, during, and after the move. Implemented Redis caching, Cloudflare CDN optimization, and server-level performance tuning. Built automated content workflows using WP-CLI and custom scripts to streamline the publishing process.
