A showcase of 20+ websites I've designed, built, and scaled — from high-traffic media platforms to local business sites.
MotorBiscuit.com is a high-traffic automotive content platform reaching over one million monthly readers. I led the migration from WordPress VIP to a scalable, owner-friendly environment, replacing a developer-centric system that made day-to-day management nearly impossible. The existing codebase buried critical ad operations and site functionality deep within theme files, requiring a full audit and extraction of key logic from thousands of lines of code. I rebuilt core functionality into modular custom plugins and lightweight scripts, centralizing control through a code snippets system that enabled feature flagging and rapid iteration without developer dependency. This transformed the site from rigid and fragile into flexible and operationally efficient. I also implemented a SafeUpdate process, including off-hours management of plugin and theme updates, along with visual regression testing to ensure changes could be deployed safely without breaking layouts, ads, or core functionality. This introduced a reliable deployment layer that previously did not exist. On the front end, I redesigned the site to align with the broader network, bringing MotorBiscuit into visual and structural consistency with properties like The Big Lead and Dodgers Nation. I standardized infrastructure, caching, and CDN configuration to support high traffic demands, resulting in improved stability and performance. Finally, I implemented automated content workflows to streamline publishing and reduce manual overhead, turning MotorBiscuit into a scalable, maintainable asset within the network.
Mission Chiropractic Works is a California-based chiropractic clinic focused on personalized care, pain relief, and long-term wellness for its patients. I was brought in under urgent conditions after a WordPress update broke the site due to an outdated theme, leaving the business effectively offline. I quickly regained access and deployed a temporary homepage rebuild using Elementor, restoring functionality and ensuring the clinic could continue acquiring patients without prolonged downtime. From there, I led a full website redesign with a focus on patient acquisition and conversion. The new structure introduced clear service pathways, improved calls-to-action, and a streamlined user journey designed to turn visitors into booked appointments. On the technical side, I removed outdated and unnecessary plugins, reduced bloat, and rebuilt the site with performance and reliability in mind. I migrated the site to a high-performance cloud environment with integrated monitoring, security, and a SafeUpdate process to prevent future failures. I also implemented a strong local SEO foundation, including structured schema, on-page optimization, and location-focused content, positioning the clinic to compete more effectively in local search results. The result was a stable, fast, and conversion-focused website that not only recovered from a critical failure but became a core driver of new patient growth.
McMullen Fine Art is a contemporary art gallery showcasing original works and curated collections for collectors and enthusiasts. This was a new build where I translated the client’s design vision into a fully functional website. Using Elementor for layout and Advanced Custom Fields for structured content, I created a flexible system that allows the client to easily manage and update artwork, collections, and site content without technical friction. The build focused on clean presentation, fast performance, and a content structure that supports both visual storytelling and scalability as the gallery grows.
RaceFTW is a motorsports-focused content site delivering news, updates, and coverage for racing fans. I led a full site redesign to bring RaceFTW into alignment with the Fletcher Media Network, unifying it with properties like The Big Lead and Dodgers Nation. The goal was to standardize the user experience, streamline development, and create consistency across the network. The redesign wasn’t just visual. I restructured layouts, components, and templates to match the network’s design system, improving usability while making the site easier to maintain and scale alongside other properties. This work helped position RaceFTW as a fully integrated part of the network, reducing fragmentation and creating a more cohesive experience for both users and internal teams.
Grand Tour Nation is an automotive entertainment site focused on news, updates, and fan-driven content around The Grand Tour and car culture. I led a full site redesign to bring Grand Tour Nation into alignment with the Fletcher Media Network, unifying it with properties like The Big Lead and Dodgers Nation. The objective was to standardize the user experience and create consistency across the network. Beyond visual updates, I restructured layouts, templates, and core components to match the network’s design system, improving usability while making the site easier to manage and scale alongside other properties. This work ensured Grand Tour Nation operates as a cohesive part of the network, reducing fragmentation and supporting a more consistent experience across all sites.
Outer Reach is a browser-based space strategy game designed for long-term engagement, combining resource management, fleet combat, and player-driven expansion in a persistent universe. I designed and built the full system architecture, creating a mobile-first experience with a clear separation between client and server. All core game logic runs server-side, with the frontend acting purely as a presentation layer. This ensures consistency, prevents manipulation, and allows the game to scale without relying on constant real-time processing. At the core of the system is a lazy-evaluated engine that calculates resources, queues, and progression based on time deltas rather than continuous ticks. This dramatically reduces server load while maintaining a real-time feel for players. I built out supporting systems including construction and research queues, fleet missions with distance-based travel, combat resolution, and a dual-resource storage model that introduces strategic risk and protection mechanics. The game also includes a structured NPC system with tiered difficulty and attack logic, as well as a colony capture system that enables player-driven expansion through conquest and defense. These systems create a dynamic environment where progression is shaped by both economic decisions and military strategy. From a technical standpoint, I built the frontend using React and TypeScript with a lightweight routing and state management approach, while the backend runs on Node and PostgreSQL with a structured API and schema-driven data layer. The result is a scalable, efficient platform capable of supporting complex gameplay without sacrificing performance. Outer Reach reflects my ability to design and execute full-stack systems, balancing performance, scalability, and user experience in a highly stateful environment.
Detroit Lions Nation is a dedicated fan platform under Fan Driven Media focused exclusively on Detroit Lions news, analysis, and community engagement. I built the platform as a strategic extension of Detroit Sports Nation, using automation to repurpose and distribute existing content to a new, focused brand without increasing editorial overhead. This allowed us to expand reach and create a vertical-specific audience while maximizing the value of content already being produced. The site was designed around a community-first model, anchored by a Facebook audience of over 36,000 fans. Content, social distribution, and on-site experience were all aligned to drive engagement between the website and the Facebook community, creating a feedback loop that increased traffic, interaction, and brand loyalty. On the technical side, I implemented automated workflows to handle content ingestion, formatting, and publishing, ensuring consistency and speed at scale. The platform was built to be lightweight, fast, and easy to manage, allowing the team to focus on content and community rather than operations. Detroit Lions Nation demonstrates how automation and distribution strategy can be leveraged to scale a media brand efficiently while deepening audience engagement.
Detroit Sports Nation is a multi-sport digital media platform covering Detroit teams, delivering news, analysis, and fan-driven content at scale. I led the evolution of the platform from a traditional content site into a system-driven media operation focused on scalability and efficiency. This included building and implementing automated workflows to ingest, enhance, and publish content, reducing manual effort while increasing output and consistency. I developed a structured content pipeline that integrates external data sources, editorial inputs, and AI-assisted processes to generate timely, accurate articles while maintaining quality control. This allowed the platform to scale content production without a proportional increase in staffing. On the technical side, I standardized infrastructure across the platform using a high-performance cloud environment with optimized caching, CDN integration, and performance tuning to handle traffic spikes and maintain fast load times. I also implemented systems for tracking, analytics, and monetization optimization, ensuring the site operates as both a content engine and a revenue-generating asset. Detroit Sports Nation represents a shift from manual publishing to a scalable media system, combining automation, performance engineering, and content strategy to support long-term growth.
LA Sports Report is a regional sports media platform delivering team-focused coverage, news, and analysis across Los Angeles sports. I built out a flexible theming system that allows each team category and its associated articles to have a distinct look and feel, while still operating within the broader Fletcher Media Network design system using multi-tenant theming. Using Advanced Custom Fields, I created a structured approach to control styling, layout variations, and content presentation at the category level. These configurations are dynamically applied across category pages and individual articles, enabling each team vertical to feel unique without fragmenting the underlying codebase. All functionality was integrated directly into the shared network theme, ensuring consistency in performance, maintainability, and future scalability across properties like The Big Lead and Dodgers Nation. This approach allows the network to support multiple team identities within a single system, reducing duplication while maintaining a tailored user experience for each audience.
Dodgers Nation is a high-traffic sports media platform dedicated to Los Angeles Dodgers coverage, reaching over 1.5 million monthly views. I led the ongoing development and optimization of the site as a core property within the Fletcher Media Network, aligning it with shared infrastructure, performance standards, and design systems used across other flagship sites. Using Advanced Custom Fields, I built custom theming capabilities that allow dynamic control over content presentation, including automated featured image handling. When a featured video URL is added, the system intelligently replaces the static image with a video-driven thumbnail, ensuring a more engaging and consistent media experience without manual intervention. On the infrastructure side, the site was engineered to handle high traffic demands, with standardized cloud hosting, caching layers, and CDN integration similar to MotorBiscuit and The Big Lead. This ensures stability, fast load times, and resilience during traffic spikes tied to breaking news and game-day coverage. Dodgers Nation reflects a balance of performance engineering, automation, and scalable content systems, supporting a high-volume publishing operation while maintaining a strong user experience.
The Big Lead is a national sports and media publication delivering news, analysis, and commentary, now serving over 2 million monthly pageviews. I led a full-scale migration from the proprietary Voltax CMS to WordPress, transitioning over a decade of content while preserving SEO equity and operational continuity. The migration required extracting and transforming large datasets using Make and Airtable, followed by structured ingestion into WordPress via WP-CLI. A critical component was rebuilding and mapping over 67,000 redirects to account for historical permalink variations, ensuring search rankings and legacy traffic were maintained throughout the transition. In parallel, I executed a complete front-end rebuild using Elementor, matching and improving upon the original Voltax design while creating a more flexible and maintainable system. I also translated editorial requirements into a streamlined WordPress setup, replacing custom CMS limitations with scalable plugins and workflows tailored to the team’s needs. On the infrastructure side, I standardized hosting, caching, and CDN layers to support high traffic volume and improve performance. The result is a stable, scalable platform capable of handling millions of monthly pageviews while giving the team full control over content and operations. The Big Lead represents a high-risk, high-impact migration executed with precision, preserving traffic, improving flexibility, and setting the foundation for long-term growth.
